Taisuke Kanaji MD, PhD

Dr. Taisuke Kanaji joined MERU VasImmune in June 2017. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from Kyushu University, School of Medicine, Japan. He currently is an Assistant Professor of The Scripps Research Institute, Molecular Medicine, La Jolla, CA. For over 20 years, Dr. Kanaji has been studying basic and clinical aspects of thrombosis and hemostasis, both in the United States and Japan. Dr. Kanaji’s research focus is platelet biology, especially in the axis of Von Willebrand Factor (VWF)-platelet glycoprotein GPIb/IX-filamins. He has held multiple senior positions including Research Scientist at the Blood Research Institute, Blood Center of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI and Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine, at Kurume University School of Medicine, Japan.
