Μonoclonal antibody CP8 blocks the binding of soluble or surface-bound adhesive proteins (von Willebrand Factor (VWF), fibrinogen, fibronectin, and vitronectin) to the human receptor complex αIIbβ3, the most highly-expressed platelet-specific heterodimeric integrin complex. It plays a key role in thrombosis and hemostasis by mediating platelet adhesion and activation upon engagement of different ligands such as fibrinogen, fibrin, VWF, and fibronectin. Its pivotal role is demonstrated by the severe bleeding disorder in patients with Glanzmann thrombasthenia. Available unlabeled and unlabeled.
